I was always a huge fan of electronic music, but I never had any ambition to make it myself. Then one day I needed a birthday present for my boss, who was into music production, and while researching I came across a Korg synthesizer that looked like a good choice. To make sure it was a good gift, I watched a few videos on YouTube to see how it worked. I got so fascinated by the machine that I ended up buying two, one for him and one for me.
The Korg Monologue was a perfect synth to start with, simple and hands on. I went online and learned as much as I could about oscillators, LFOs, envelopes and so on.
Once I understood the logic of it, I started making my own music, picking up more gear as needed.
The music I make is simple, and the recordings are home made and very low-fi. I try to make the kind of music I like, mostly techno, ambient, field recording and noise. I never thought it was possible to make music without any musical knowledge or experience, but the synths proved me wrong. As long as you have a feel for notes, rhythm and tempo, you can express yourself the right way.
