This project was my first. I decided I wanted to photograph Iceland and set off with a single camera and one lens, based in Reykjavík, driving hundreds of kilometres to explore landscapes, coastlines, and urban spaces as they appeared.
Looking back, I still have unfinished business with Iceland. With more experience now, I hope to return and remake some of these images, seeing them with new eyes.
It was simple, honest, and I learned a lot about life on the road as a photographer. I had a guide of places to visit, so the trip wasn’t spontaneous, but it taught me how to travel and work with patience, observation, and focus.
